Situated in the South of the Adriatic, Montenegro has beautiful beaches, fantastic clear lakes and fast running rivers, from the beach lover to the walkers something for everyone.

Montenegro is 13,612SqKm in size and has a population of 630,000, the coast is 230km long, and you can reach Montenegro by plane into Podgorica, Tivat and Berane. The climate in the lower regions is very Mediterranean with warm dry summers and mild rainy winters.

The capital of Montenegro is Podgorica, which is one of the art and cultural centers of Montenegro, with the other being Cetinje.

Montenegro gained its independence from Serbia in June 2006 and since then property prices have started to increase. The Crown Prince is keen to welcome celebrities back to Montenegro, the likes of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton used to frequent the country and now they are aiming for the return of the rich and famous, with some fantastic high end properties available it will not be long.

Montenegro is not currently a member of the European Union but is in negotiation with the EU, it has unilaterally adopted the Euro as its currency, and the anticipated joining date is 2015.
