Information on Canary Islands

The Canary Islands are located just off the West coast of Africa; the groups of islands are an autonomous community of Spain. The islands are made up of Lanzarote, Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, La Palma, La gomera, El Hierro and La Graciosa. Four of Spain’s national parks are located in the Canary islands.

The Canary Islands are on the GMT time zone and use the Euro as its currency,  the economy is pretty much based around Tourism.

The islands use the Spanish legal system so buying a property is the same as in Spain.

The climate in the Canary Islands only differs some 6 degrees throughout the seasons, In La Palma, Tenerife and Gran Canaria you may find tropical rains from time to time, while Fuerteventura and Lanzarote are very dry and guarantee sunshine almost without interruption
